Is this situation one of the reasons that they have you claim a value for each card (for restitution and/or insurance purposes), or do they have you do that strictly to calculate how much they can rape you?

probably both...and it's a double edged sword. I feel like the few cards I've submitted to PSa have been high buck cards I usually downplay the value so as to pay less for PSA's quality grading service...I never even think that they could be lost?

The value you declare is what you will be reimbursed should PSA lose your card. Some of the cards wound up being worth more due to the grade attained. I have been submitting since early 2000's. This is the first package of mine that they have "lost". And I am still not convinced it is lost just yet. More like "misplaced". I am imagining a scene like the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark....when they stored away the ark at the end of movie.

Yea....the computer manually generated a tracking number at midnight on July 1st. But PSA has yet to tender the package to the post office. The tracking is like in "pre-shipment" mode, alerting me that a package is on the way.

Were the cards (1) graded and (2) being sent to you via Registered Mail?

If so, that would be reason for hope. Registered Mail can be slow at times. However, it tends to be the most secure delivery method. Packages are given different treatment (scanned every step of the way, kept under lock and key, etc.) than other items the Post Office handles.

Pardon me if this was mentioned earlier. I had a busy weekend and didn't keep up on reading as much as I would have liked.

Yes...the cards had already been graded for a couple months. They were waiting on a single Salada Coin to be graded which was supposed to be merged with this older order and all be sent together. The coin was graded and sent all by itself. I told them to go ahead and send the older order, but now they can't find it. Me personally, I think it is sitting on a "hold" shelf over at PSA. All the info for the package is known (almost 15 lbs worth of cards).....however, because it wasn't IMMEDIATELY shipped after grading now there is a problem.
