Yes, there are many examples of newer graded cards selling at the high end of the spectrum compared to older graded cards. Some of it has to do with the grading adjustments, but some also has to do with the new tamper-evident cases. So it's not just the grade, it's the generation of flip (hologram or lighthouse) and the slab itself people are paying a premium for with a newly graded example.
