I also won an item on Dec. 8 and paid for it on the 9th. Since then it's been crickets. I looked online a couple of times (most recently on Tuesday). The item was still in processing or something like that (I don't remember the exact wording but the implication was that it wasn't even being considered for shipment). So, I finally called yesterday. The person at Heritage said the item was in their shipping department but he couldn't tell me when it would be shipped.
Today, I get an email saying that the item will be shipped today. I wonder if I hadn't called, how long it would have taken them to eventually send it out.

Heritage and REA both had an auction end on Sunday January 19th. I won a single graded card in each. Been a regular (albeit small-fish) customer of both houses for over a dozen years. Here is the status of each of my winnings:
REA: Hammer + BP - $330 BP - 20% (no minimum) S&H - $10 Payment method - mailed a check on Tuesday 1/21/25 Status: Card arrived today (1/24/25) Heritage: Hammer + BP - $139 BP - 22% ($29 minimum) S&H - $14.48 Payment method - e-check on Monday 1/20/25 Status: "Preparing to ship" (asof 1/24/25) Both provide solid customer service in my experience, but it's interesting how one provides superior shipping at a lower cost (and lower BP). Things you take into consideration when placing bids, is all.

In Heritage's defense, one thing most people may not take into consideration, they have dozens of auctions every week in many, many different collectible areas and probably have 5,000 lots a week to ship from all of the various departments.
I agree REA is lightning fast(yes, I have my winnings already as do many), but Heritage is a behemoth that moves at a bit slower pace than the nimble staff at REA. |
