The card should be #274 if it's a high-number '38 Goudey, which this is purported to be. The "flip" reads #250.

Flip shows card #250 but the card itself is numbered 274?

Default 1938 Dimaggio

The two listings linked have the same cert #. They are obviously not the same card.

I pass on alot of bigger ticket cards customers bring to me at shows if I do not know the provenance of the card.

I have seen too many suspect cards and many times the seller is innocent of trying to scam people but they were scammed themselves.

There are currently two of these cards for sale on eBay, same cert # and all. I belive both are fake cards with fake PSA flips.

One of the cards is number 250 and the other is 274 so the latter doesn't match the number on the flip. How can you be sure the one with the correct card number is fake?

I'm not sure, hence the term, "I believe." To my eyes, there are differences between the linked card and a genuine Goudey DiMaggio. It could be the somewhat poor image quality.

Hopefully, a few more board members will take a look and chime in.

To me the card 250 matches the flip and PSA cert verification. The card 274 has the little pictures in the borders. But I don't see a listing for that...

So other than what looks like tabs in the slab and a fuzzy barcode the other tipoff seems to be the fake aging of the card...

Does that seem right?
