Default Holders

Hi Aaron,

Just a little heads up about some negatives. The holders that seem to be perfect for 3 1/2" pins are actually too tight. with the foam and the limited area side to side, you kind of end up "forcing" the lid down. Maybe he has a larger size that may work better. Also, because the lid actually touches the buttons, I wouldn't recommend these for litho's only celluloid. I didn't want the lids directly on the litho paint. It's probably not as much of an issue with the smaller lithos because the lids barely touch. Anyway, I should have taken a picture of his display back in the day because it was the nicest in the room.

Default 1971 Expos pinbacks

Trying to complete this set, still missing Jim Gosger, Mack Jones, Coco Laboy, Dan McGinn and Claude Raymond, if you know of any....

Default Mauch

Hi Guy,

I don't know why he's on my want list but I always thought there was a Gene Mauch in this 69' set as there is in the 70' set. I don't know why it's on there but just wondering if you're pretty sure he's not included? I only need 2 from the 70's set.

I gotta say, I have never quite understood that red, white and blue Expos logo. Can anyone explain what the designer was “going for”? Maybe you have to be French to understand.....

The logo is actually an "elb" (red "e", white "l", blue "b"). It stands for Expos League Baseball, and together it forms an "M" for Montreal. Link below...

As for the colors, it is explained in the attached pic. You just can't make this sh*t up!

Thank you , Mark. I’m glad to know I wasn’t the only one confused by that atrocious logo. However, if I read what’s in the link correctly, the logo combines an e-M-b and not an e-l-b. It’s pretty bad, no matter what they were going for.

Perhaps you're right... I read a few different articles with conflicting info, so who knows. I suppose if you're going to permanently name your franchise after a World's Fair (Expo '67 in Montreal) you deserve some criticism.

Who even remembers Expo '67 anyway? Professional teams really should not be named after temporary events. I am probably biased because as a kid, I was as much a Tony Perez fan as I was a Reds fan. When they traded Perez to Montreal after the 1976 season, it was a tough pill to swallow. I could not stand seeing him go from the Reds' classy and timeless uniforms to those goofy looking threads that the Expos called a uniform.

Dumb logo and dumber name. Just my dumb opinion.

I saw your 1971 set , There was no Gene Mauch in that set , you are missing just the Mach Jones and Dan Mcginn, The Mcginn is nearly impossible to find

That’s a great set. I’m glad I’m not trying to complete one.....although I totally know what it’s like to be missing “that one guy.”

So many great pins here -- it's been a lot of fun to see all the photos.

It's been quite awhile since I contributed to this thread -- I think this are new additions since my last post.

Thanks, Andy - I think the 4"x4" solves the 3"/3.5" issue for me better than I expected (so, they shouldn't be too snug)

Can't tell you how much I appreciate the feedback/help.
