Good to have you on board!

Default New no-hit pitcher pinback acquisitions

HOF Ed Walsh 1910-1912 Sweet Corporal pinback

Knot Hole Gang pinback to accompany my 1938 Cincinnati Reds Knot Hole pass in my Vandy showcase.

Vandy's 1st of two consecutive no-hitters on 6/11/1938 was a Knot Hole Day game attended by perhaps 4,000-5,000 lucky kids in addition to 5,814 paid that attended this game against the Boston Bee's.

Default 1928 PM6 Grover Alexander

I managed to pick this 1928 PM6 of Grover Alexander yesterday.

I've found some details on prewar cards

I've not been able to find any other sales of the pins. If anyone has any other background or info about values, please let me know.

Thanks.

Terrific acquisition! PM6s used to be around some, usually undervalued as so little was known about the issue. Many have major rust problems for some reason, some almost like they were sitting in water or some other liquid for a while. Scarce now, I think the initial find(s) has been pretty much collected up. Not sure there were any commons in the set (of 10, maybe?), all major stars of the 1920s. I don't have Muchinsky's book, I'd like to see what he says about them.

Thanks Hank. PM6 isn't covered in Paul Muchinsky's book. I also have a copy of "Non-Paper Sports Collectibles" by Hake/Steckler. It's not there either.

When I saw the pin listed, I struggled to find any details about it. That's partly what got me interested. A Google image search brought me to the pre-war cards page.

There are 8 pins in the set. As you mentioned....no commons.
  • Grover Alexander
  • Ty Cobb
  • Bucky Harris
  • Rogers Hornsby
  • Walter Johnson
  • Babe Ruth
  • George Sisler
  • Tris Speaker

I could only find one other PM6 listing for sale https://ebay.us/iV3Hqy
There are no sold listings and only 12 PM6 pins ever graded at PSA.

If anyone has any other info, I'm keen to learn more.
