Paid too much for this postcard many years ago because I and the seller were convinced Ty Cobb was the fifth person from the left. I was later told by a Cobb expert that it was not him, but I still held out hope. That is, until today when I did some research and found a clipping of this photo in the Detroit Free Press from May 8, 1910 https://www.newspapers.com/clip/4581...it-free-press/. The McGraw Tigers were a local independent team but "Cobb" is actually "Anderson, catcher". It must have been interesting living in Detroit in 1910 and "kind of" looking like Cobb. But I probably should have used my money on something else 30 years ago (or whenever it was that I bought this).
