Very interesting letter. I wonder if the fine ever got canceled. Knowing Earl, I'm guessing not. Thanks for sharing.

I doubt the fine was canceled as well....

As a companion piece to the letter, I also have an original Baltimore Sun press photo of the incident:

Default Spring Training

As pitchers and catchers report today, just down the street at Ed Smith Stadium, here are a few items from the good ole days in Miami. I'll post other stuff from spring training as February and March progress. Enjoying the sunny Sarasota weather.

An open invitation to anyone heading to Sarasota to check out the Orioles this spring, stop by and say hello. I'll be in section 106, row 2. The ushers can point me out. Mark that means you. I have extra tickets.

Such great looking rosters and schedules. So many of the great Orioles pictures were taken in Miami Stadium.

Thanks for the invite Alan. It's tough for me during my daughters cheer and dance season which is now. Competition season ends the beginning of May. There's a competition almost every weekend, and some for both cheer and dance. This week is Cheersport in Atlanta. This is "supposed" to be her last year; we'll see...
