Brooks Robinson and the Baltimore Orioles

Love to hear some feedback on this card. believe it is from 1969 and is very scarce. I heard there is a Reggie and a Mantle out there from the same issue.

I don't know too much about this issue, but have seen pics of the Brooks Robinson before, probably yours. I have seen a few other players from the set including Rick Reichardt and Tony Conigliaro. I would love to have the card in my collection, but I'm sure it's way out of my price range. It is a rare card. Is there a story how you acquired it?

In 1964 and 1965, Hasbro sold a baseball board game called "Challenge the Yankees". It was a dice based game, that included 50 player cards (25 Yankees and 25 All-Stars). It is loosely based upon other baseball games, like Strat-O-Matic, since the same roll of the dice would render different results depending who was batting. The cards are 4" x 5.5".

The only Oriole each year was Milt Pappas. The only way to differentiate the two years is the addition on the 1965 of reference to a game in 1964 and stats updates.

I've always liked the looks of these cards; probably the colors w/the B&W player picture is just a nice setup. Wonder why Milt was the only Oriole in the game?

Day 44 (February 13, 2020 – 044)

I don’t have many of the small Oriole schedules, but this is a fairly uncommon 1972 Baltimore Orioles schedule put out by Crown gasoline. The schedule pictures Brooks and Paul Blair the great Oriole center fielder.

I had a 1972 Orioles Special Parking permit out so I might as well post that today. It’s a permit that the Orioles used for just one game; this particular permit was not used.

This is a 1976 -77 MSA drink lid with a unpunched straw hole. The lid has a waxy coating. Havent seen to many of these on ebay lately.

Quitcrab, very nice Brooks disc. Here's a 1982 FBI Ken Singleton disc with the complete box bottom. I assume the 1981 FBI Jim Palmer will forever be on my want list.

You are right these lids don't show up that often. I also have the Jim Palmer lid. They have been associated with 7-Eleven stores in some references. Does anyone know if they were distributed through 7-Eleven or somewhere else?

Nice Scott. Imagine all the possible variations of where the straw hole is located on the MSA lid.
