Dark face is not a killer. However, I agree that will probably end poorly, I just don’t see signs that tell me with certainty that the card is bad.

You know more than I do about them Jay but when I look at the card it just doesn't look right. The photo is just off. A bit fuzzy looking. That along with the perfectly rounded corners and look ma, no creases, make me very, very skeptical.
The days are long gone when you could easily tell fakes by the large white gap between the border and picture. It is scamming 102 now..
..and those bids after 99 bucks are not very reassuring.

The original poster made it seem like there was an obvious trait that made the card bad. I did not see one. Do I think it is good-no, but that is from factors outside the image. Dark happens, even symmetrically rounded corner can theoretically happen. I agree that is many cases you just can’t tell from the image. However, doesn’t PSA have a buyer protection plan so if the card is not legit they will reimburse the buyer if the seller does not?

They might if they graded it.
I guess anything can theoretically happen. I was recently told that by someone concerning a card I have. They said well, maybe it is the first card ever done like that. I said "maybe".

Yes there is but regardless the buyer who thought he got a great deal is safe. There are clear terms of 30 days for a refund.

ebay buyer protection is great, but for high value item it’s sketchy.

like any business they do not want to be on the hook for thousands of dollars.

i’ve dealt with high value claims and trust me they are completely dense when it comes to sports cards.

If they act quickly and send it to PSA - they can get it back in a couple of weeks - in time to file a case. Of course they will be out either 500 or 1000 for the 1 day grading fee.

The top one is from the auction. To me the 151 font looks off. Not to mention the stock color.

Why would a guy with nearly 8000 Feedback risk $11K on a deal that is obviously just "too good to be true"?

I cant imagine anyone trying to sell a legitimate Ruth RC that is NOT in a PSA/SGC slab.
