i watched this end last night...I actually considered throwing in a bid late as I thought the price was low! I just couldnt get past the back damage.

If the "winning" bidder doesn't pay, Ebay gets nothing and the seller loses nothing.

Never understood the attraction of this card, issued nearly two decades after his playing career. Yeah, I know it's short printed or whatever.

I think it's a real cool looking card. Don't see that green very often. But many other Goideys are cool as well. The story and perceived scarcity is the kicker.

To me, it's a tribute card, which negates all that.

Good deal on one, I would take it...
But it wouldn't be in my top 50 if you gave me 30k to spend on a card

Yeah, that green is super. I would be proud to own that card. I agree with you that the appeal of this card is the backstory. The fact that it is Nap is bonus. This is one of my bucket list cards along with a high eye appeal 52t Mantle and a decent Wilson Franks Campy. I'm not ready for the 52 Mick but I can saddle up for the Campy so if you have one for sale or trade let me know.

But it's a Nappy, superb image, an orig. HOFer, from arguably the best set ever. Made nearly 85 years ago. Personally, I'd cut off my - fill in the blank - to have one. But, to each his own.

It seems Heritage's image is brighter & it looks like a better card
Maybe this has something to do w/ it.
Or the winning bidder of Heritage's card was the consignor & no longer bidding on it w/ Probstein

My experience suggests that many cards in Heritage appear brighter.
