The front is stunning. I would have no problems owning a card like that. My 55 Bowman looks amazing from the front and is missing a chunk the size of a 50 cent piece from the back.

I do enjoy the 99 bids from maybe 10 different bidders.

Well, it was bought from Heritage in May 2016 for $23,900.

It just sold via Probstein on ebay for $16,766.

Looks like a big loss for the seller.

Why do you think such a large discount to last price?

IMHO, Heritage gets high prices for their items, due in large part to their massive worldwide client base. When Heritage sold this Lajoie last year, they had it in their "Signature" sportscard auction, where many more people probably saw it, even those who weren't specifically looking for it. Plus, last year at this time was kind of the beginning of the "errational exuberance" we experienced in card buying.

As for ebay, with the exception of PWCC, prices are for the most part, significantly lower. Also, the card didn't really stand out this time; one had to actually be looking for it to know it was there. Also, prices have retreated a bit from the highs of last year.

Anyone who would list a rare card like that with Probstein and his 20,000+ EBay listings is either
Probstein
A dear close friend of Probstein
or an idiot.

Quick flip and the seller took a bath. To add insult to injury, now they have to pay Ebay 10% for the privilege of losing $5,000.

It seems Heritage's image is brighter & it looks like a better card
Maybe this has something to do w/ it.
Or the winning bidder of Heritage's card was the consignor & no longer bidding on it w/ Probstein

One turned up on Reddit and I initially though it might be it, but I'm sure it's not now. Pasted in a scrapbook. Came our pretty clean.
