Gavvy had a successful post baseball career. He got into real estate in CA and became a judge in Laguna Beach, where he passed in the early '60's. Fared much better than a lot of his contemporaries. He has an interesting write up on Wikipedia. I believe he was the first major leaguer from the greater San Diego area, being a native of Escondido, CA.

My only Gabby is unnumbered but at least has a wet sheet transfer on back....

I like Gary's ambiguous "A/O" in Gavvy...
