The '56 Williams is compliments of none other than Mr. Joey Farina...
Not to get off topic but....I don't know if this is common knowledge because I haven't spent much time with the '56 Topps set until recently but I was looking at that '56 Ted Williams card and immediately my eye was drawn to the yellow strip of color between the top border and the name box. I've been looking at a lot of unlisted '60's print variations as of late so I thought I'd do a quick search and noticed there are variations of this card with different colors. The white back Williams variation appears to have a yellow or a green strip variation with the yellow strip appearing more times on ebay by a ratio of about 3:1. Here's an example of the green strip: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1956-TOPPS-T...item56568a8fc3

The gray back Williams variation appears to have a thinner sliver of color which I've only been able to find in a blue/gray color like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1956-TOPPS-B...item27d316ae4e
