Don't know if the clock counted down - I was distracted - or Rhys just pulled the plug but am glad it finally ended so I could rest up for the hockey game.
Am looking forward to the next RMY auction. Between it and Henry Yee I have switched gears a bit from collecting old cardboard and have picked up a lot of neat photos.

Another icon of yesteryear, Giants QB Charley Conerly, 1950
I love the original photos from the old football cards - great pick-up!!!

Also love those contest beauties - nothing wrong with today's definition of 'beauty', but loved those Marilynesque women with a little meat on their bones.

I went after a few Conlons and lost, and a few cabinets and ended up with just this one.

For anyone who was an underbidder on the Walter Johnson portrait, I have the same 1920's print (same press stamp, size, image quality) in lesser condition, for sale on my website at less than 1/2 the price it went for last night.

Here's the one item I won (happily) last night:

Can't find the "Like" button.
Thanks, Scott. Penny just dropped that the Conerly image is indeed his '50 Bowman card. Thanks for pointing that out. Am partial to that set as it was my birth year.
Agreed on the the killer tomatoes of yesteryear. Lots of glamour and style that's missing today. My two cents adjusted for inflation.

Picked up this Zach Wheat the day after he got his 2000th hit. Bid on a couple others that were over my head.

Congrats.
If I had unlimited money, but could only buy one picture in the auction, it would've been that one.
Just spectacular.

Thanks, the moment I saw the Matty photo I knew I had to have it. To me it is the most iconic image of him and that's saying a lot!

David, there is a great Dizzy Dean Van Oeyeon photo in Legendary (yes, it is mine) that is gorgeous that you might want to take a look at.

Thanks Greg for not going harder, it was a nail biter for me

Ben, another fabulous Ruth to your already phenomenal collection

Bryan, that Gehrig is an awesome addition, congrats!

Mark, the Feller is is off the charts, that is a photo that you can hang on your wall and call it art. I wanted the Paige but fell short as My funds were intent on the Matty only.

Kenny, great photo of Zach

There are aome great photos in Legendary that I have my eye on and fortunately I do not have to wait long for it to close.
