Default Veriswap has cards that were stolen Trader 4363790

Well, the saga continues over the person who refused to pay the remaining $1600 of a deal that was done with my wife. I see the cards that were sold to hi are now listed on Veriswap and he is considered an "all star" trader.

Default Veriswap stolen Cards

Ironically, he refused to pay the remaining $1600 because he felt like the 1951 Berk Ross set was opened yet on his listing of the 1951 Berk Ross set it specifically says "Never Opened/Never Been Touched"

Care to provide the details of the transaction you're referring to? Your wife sold someone cards and sent them to him before full payment was received?

Default Stolen Cards on Veriswap

Yes, I told Leon about it when it happened. It did not happen on this playform. It was a large purchase. The buyer decided after he received the package that he wanted to "renegotiate" the last part of the deal because of the 1951 Berk Ross set. Long story short, payment was never received.

I'm sure there will be a ton of people who say "never ship until full payment is received." This buyer was not ethical and she got burned. Now they are available with very high valuations on Veriswap.

Is anyone else confused?

So this was a larger deal that just the 51 set?

Did you get paid on everything else other than the 51 set?

I have never used Veriswap but don't you have to give them the ok to ship and only after they have payment on your behalf?

Do they have a mediation service for when there is a dispute?

Default Police report?

Can you file a police report? I’m not sure of what exactly would constitute wire or mail fraud, but maybe that’s applicable. Good luck!

Default Not much can be done

It was a large deal. It did not take place on veriswap. (I didn't even know what veriswap was at the time) It was a private sale.

If you look at veriswap you can see the W515 Strip with Ruth, W512 Sheet with Cobb and other stuff that was part of the deal. He paid all but the final $1600 saying he would pay it when the cards were received. When he received the cards he tried renegotiating the entire deal and saying he wouldn't pay.

Not much I can do other than let others know about it. He has already been kicked off of just about every major facebook group.

I don't have any details about your particular transaction, but I'll just add that I had a bad experience with Veriswap and its owner, Raymond Li.

Long story short, I was a victim of theft and mail fraud. The card I bought was supposedly sent to the wrong address, USPS couldn't recover it, and the seller refused to issue a refund. I filed a police report, but it didn't go anywhere because it was the value was below the state's threshold for criminal prosecution. The missing parcel eventually turned up, but the card wasn't inside.

About a year later, I stumbled on the card while browsing Veriswap. I contacted their support staff and gave them a copy of the police report, which showed the card's PSA serial number. I also gave them a copy of the USPS "Missing Mail" investigation, which also showed the card's PSA serial number. Finally, I provided a copy of a text exchange where the Veriswap user admitted that he had sold me the card and kept it. Veriswap/Raymond Li declined to take any action, and the user's account remained active. I expressed my disappointment in a Veriswap Facebook group, and Raymond Li booted me from the group.

Sounds like a criminal enterprise. I never heard of it. But I will tell all my friends to steer clear of it for obvious reasons.

“never ship until full payment is received” — yep. If the size of the deal was such that the individual didn’t have all the money, you don’t make the deal. Anything else will be exploited.

Generally no - shipping the cards after partial payment has already been received is basically an extension of credit for the remaining balance and therefore civil and not criminal when the party reneges (think of it as breaking a business contract).

Certain states may have a legal variance on such situations and more details of the OP’s deal would help too.

Default Legally

Legally, there is no point on filing a civil suit against somebody across the country for $1600 unless somebody knows something that I dont know about legal costs.

Sounds like you have an issue with the buyer. Why not disclose the buyer so people here know to be careful if they ever come across him.

You should out the buyer so other people can avoid. Sad story but does really help the community other than stay away from Veriswap…

Quite a few years ago I thought taking a hot check for a business, which I sold to someone and took as payment, was criminal. It wasn't. I am obviously not a lawyer. Live and learn stuff.

Outing the buyer is always good unless there are extenuating circumastances .

Sounds like it is time for a little road trip! You probably won’t get your money, but you can at least make sure he has to spend it on new ankles.

That’s some tough luck,
Bob
