Default The Mascots

Forty years ago the Braves retired Chief Noc-A-Homa and his short term companion Princess Win-A-Lotta. I thought a drum was part of the mascot's act, but I cannot find a picture of a drum. Of course there was the tipi in the left field stands. Dancing around the tipi after a Braves home run was the extent of their show. The Braves were in Milwaukee when the concept started and when the Braves left for Atlanta, the Braves built the slide in left field for Bernie Brewer.

Share your mascot photos and stories.

I can't believe it's been 40 years since Chief Noc-A-Homa was retired. It seems like yesterday to me. However now I can't remember yesterday.

Let me get back to the vintage era....No story, just a card.

Always wondered about those kid mascots. . . . did they just leave school one day as a nine year old and travel around with a bunch of grown men? Different times, to say the least. Wonder if one of them every wrote a book about what it was like.
