Glove with arm guard?

A young man that works for me knows I am “into baseball stuff” brought pictures of a glove he was given by his grandfather. It doesn’t appear overly old to me but I am not overly educated on gloves and haven’t seen one with the attached piece shown.

He said he thought it was a Reggie Jackson glove from what his grandfather said.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The cuff was taken off a Cooper goalie catching glove. Looks like it's from a GM 6 which was the senior model. The GM 12 and GM 21 was the pro models which almost all the NHL goalies in the 70's used.

I used one for street hockey years ago, it was like a baseball glove!

Thanks guys. Never would have thought of the hockey thing. Wondering if this was used for baseball or hockey. I guess it could have been either or both.

YES!

Looks like a hybrid combination of a baseball glove with hockey catcher glove.

Goalie gloves didn't have fingers.

Baseball gloves didn't have arm protection.

The glove itself is actually somewhat valuable. It is a Heart of the Hide and those gloves are considered the top retail model. I know Mantle and other Heart of the Hide gloves generally sell for much more than regular store models.

Much appreciated. Wasn’t aware of that either. I’ll be sure to pass that on. I’m sure he will be happy to know it’s somewhat special for other reasons than his grandfather giving it to him.
