I think I found my holy grail just not sure what exactly it is.
Its 33 inches tall which leads me to believe it's a bat bag. It has numbers 14-39-42 on it which leads me to believe it's Hodges Campy and Robinson. It also has other markings but I have no idea what they are as it's hard to tell. Does anyone know what this is exactly and how it would have been used? Were infielders bats kept together etc? I have been trying to photo match but can not find anything online. I am not selling this, but was wondering if there was a approx value one would put on this. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. |

Not sure what that is, but very cool. Congrats! If not for bats, maybe a garment or laundry bag? That would be awesome if those numbers represented Hodges/Campy/JR...especially # 42. Here is a wire photo I have with the three of them.

I thought that, too.....except we don't have a 14th month with 39 days (that I'm aware of).

At 33 inches, it seems too small to be a bat bag, plus they usually appear more slender.
I agree that it's probably a laundering or garment bag. Then again, being Christmas time.... Maybe that's the bag the Dodgers used to send their wish lists to ole' Saint Nick. 😎 |

I have never herd of teams using bags designated for bats of specific players. That just would not be practical. And as someone else pointed, 33 inches is to short for a bat bag. Still a very cool piece, whatever it is!!!!!
