So of you know that I collect Jimmy Lavender T206's. My wife is related to him. Exactly how? I'm still doing that research but know that the Lavenders moved to middle Georgia from North Carolina in the mid 1800's.
Anyway, I am active with Find A Grave, and located his grave in Montezuma - about two hours away. Finally made the trip yesterday and took some pictures. Talked to locals and it appears that he and his wife had no children, and he was the last of his family in the area. Here is one; ![]() You can check out the other pictures and his memorial here: They neglected to say that Jimmy ended Rube Marquards' 19 game winning streak too. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg...780535&df=all& Just thought I'd share. -Jimmy |
