Just landed my first Pete Rose rookie card. Pretty happy with this one. Not the best image because I do not have it yet to scan.

Just got this awesome 62 Willie Mays with a green tint. I am guessing it is a Super SSP.

A few 75 Topps upgrades and 1 Red Man card bought off eBay. Cards have not arrived yet but I'll post pics any way.
I've been looking hard for a well centered 75 Topps Mike Schmidt. This one has a small mark on the bottom left corner but it was priced right. I nearly gave 3X as much for 1 just like it but without the small mark. The 1952 Red Man is miss-labeled as a 1954. Last edited by Hammerin'Hank; 02-11-2015 at 01:15 PM. |

And it's even better than that for Mr. Clean. His 1984 WS vs Detroit gave him a second NLCS MVP and a fifth NL pennant.

Thanks Steve. It's one of those cards that should be in everyone's collection. The picture is amazing and while the card may be overrated (not in my opinion); is there a better action shot out there???

A mix of stuff waiting in my office after several days on the road.
![]() The comic books and Ernie Banks card were from a cartoonist I met at the Ernie Banks statue. Yours for a little more than a stamp at his Etsy site-- https://www.etsy.com/listing/2139944...ue-2-portraits The Rice and Reggie cards are two of my favorites from the 1978 Topps issue. The Reggie captures his greatest moments as Mr. October, and the Rice card was from his MVP year, easily one of the five best offensive seasons of the 1970s. And the Alston is the ninth of 24 cards I need for my 1956 Brooklyn Dodgers team set. As a math nerd, I love the cartoon on the back. ![]()

Some of you know I am working on a 1956 Dodgers team set to commemorate Brooklyn's first and only championship in 1955. My goal, seldom realized, was to find great eye appeal and centering within the VG-EX or EX grades (or more to the point, within those price ranges). What a dream come true this Jim Gilliam was for me. With my aging eyes, I seriously wouldn't be able to distinguish this card from a PSA 10.

And not technically a card, but this Aaron cover has been my white whale since practically the day I returned to collecting. I wouldn't have even guessed that one this nice looking still existed. I believe it is also Aaron's first solo cover on a national publication, but let me know if I'm forgetting something.
![]() Picked up the 1969 Banks as well to replace the 1956 Banks JET I donated to the Ernie Banks memorial.

Upgrade for a 1964 Topps Set. Had trouble deciding between one perfectly centered but with faded color, or this one with vibrant color with pretty good centering. Decided on the popping color.

This is my first post in the "Look What I Got" thread. Hope I'm doing it right!
A cheap yellow-letter Kaline in OBC condition, plus a pair of slabbed '61's (don't worry, OBC brethren, they won't stay encased for long; I'm going to free them) to get my '61 list down to the final 13 cards. Tom |

Yep that Aaron in the SGC is cardboard porn. I'm wondering why it isn't a higher grade.
