Just landed my first Pete Rose rookie card. Pretty happy with this one. Not the best image because I do not have it yet to scan.

Just got this awesome 62 Willie Mays with a green tint. I am guessing it is a Super SSP.;)

Damn JB, where do you find these centered cards?! Another awesome pickup. I need to step my game up.

Found it newly listed on Ebay and immediately made an offer after two declines I finally made the deal.

A few 75 Topps upgrades and 1 Red Man card bought off eBay. Cards have not arrived yet but I'll post pics any way.

I've been looking hard for a well centered 75 Topps Mike Schmidt. This one has a small mark on the bottom left corner but it was priced right. I nearly gave 3X as much for 1 just like it but without the small mark.

The 1952 Red Man is miss-labeled as a 1954.

Russ, I need to get some more of those '75s. Even if I'm not doing much right now, a couple graded '75 stars will scratch that itch I have for a little while longer. So close now to my goal. :D

That's what its all about.........you got-a scratch the itch and the 75's are an easy way to do it while letting you save up for a bigger goal.

Here is my latest mail day from SGC. I love the display of the 56's with the black borders. Getting another shipment together as we speak.

This is a weird little lot I picked up on ebay. 1950 Callahan. Bought these on a whim for $150. What surprised me was that the Chandler card was included, which seems to be one of the key cards of the set. Don't know if I got screwed or not, but I actually like these little cards, even though no one else seems to!
And no, that's not my bed. And yes, it does seem a little creepy!

Nettles is one of the guys that just doesn't get talked about enough... surprising for a Yankee..

I am really pumped over this one. The centering and the absence of damage on the red corner really please my eye. Have two now but no problem hoarding centered Micks!

This was the last card I needed to have every basic Topps issue of HoF'ers with rookie cards from 1952 forward.

By far the most I've spent on one card. As I wrote in another thread, I'm still trying to come to grips with that, but I'm very happy to have it! This is the jpeg from the listing. The card in hand is just as bright and colorful as the scan shows.

Matt, that 53 Topps Mantle is really sharp looking. Hard to find a copy like that dead centered!

Tony-- outstanding card. Must feel great to admire it. I have that image on my laptop desktop, my desk, my phone, even my coffee table. Top of its grade as well. The central image and near even borders hit the eye so well. Congrats!

When it comes to the 52 Mantle the cleanliness of the image itself is most important. Too many faded and washed out fronts on the market out there. Nice get my friend.

Agree on Nettles. He is another guys who's hopes of Cooperstown were shattered by people buying into the steroid era. If only that career BA were .260 rather than .248...........

Anything Nettles did with the bat (like lead the league in HRs) was pure bonus. Like Ozzie Smith and Brooks Robinson, the glove was enough. Quite a talent to turn doubles into outs.

Excellent point.

Just like Nettles, another guy who didn't make the Hall (yet) but was a mainstay on all-star teams and in the post-season. Your card is terrific. There is so little discoloration of the border that it practically disappears into the holder.

And also the hardest third of the answer to the trivia question: Which three Los Angeles Dodger personalities played a sport other than baseball for Michigan State?

Thanks Steve. It's one of those cards that should be in everyone's collection. The picture is amazing and while the card may be overrated (not in my opinion); is there a better action shot out there???
