This isn't meant as a bash fest. I am not a grading guy and I'm just wondering if the bottom border of this card allows it to qualify for an SGC 70.
Thanks--Jay |

Yes, both PSA and SGC allow for rough cuts. Some people like them, some don't. I happen to like them a lot.

Is it rough cuts on certain sets that they allow, e.g Old Judge, or just in general they allow rough cuts?

I'm pretty sure it's any issue. This topic came up a couple of months ago or so on the post war side.

Infamous for his Sept 23rd, 1908 call. Nice card!

Rough cuts are very, very unusual ( as in I've never seen one like this) in Old Judges. I think that rough edge happened after issue.

I can't speak as to the accuracy of this card, but it sure is a beauty, Jay.

Love the rough cuts - goes back to a time when "perfection" wasn't the end all - be all. Plus no chance of a trim job there.........

Jay,
I have spoken to one of the graders in the past on this subject, but as it related to 1960 fleer Football. Rough cuts are not graded harshly especially if the set is typically found that way. I think your card has nice eye appeal, that's probably why. |

Its not worthy of a 5.5 in my opinion. That bottom edge should really knock it down several full grade points.
