Are these Cracker Jack pins/buttons?

I found these two pins/buttons (Luke Appling, Al Simmons) in some of my father's stuff and have been unable to find any information or valuation on them. Leon seemed to think they might be Cracker Jack pins but they aren't really pins. Any information on them and their value would be appreciated.

Maybe they were made in different ways? I am not really a pin guy but there are some avid pin collectors on the board so maybe they can help. regards

They are similar but not quite. It will be interesting to see if anyone has any that are the same.

That issue is cataloged as 1938 Baseball Tabs. They're listed on Page 33 of the 2011 edition of the Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards.

Wonderful! Thank you. I would have never thought to use the word "tab". I'll try to get my hands on a copy of the catalog mentioned. Now all I have to do is figure their worth. Any ideas or know of anyone these might be of particular interest to? Again Thanks!!
