Default Psa 3?

I brought this topic up because I've seen a ton of ugly PSA3s on eBay lately. There was a horrific Wheat tonight in particular. Some crap (perhaps literally) on his chin and a crease. I wouldn't expect a VG card to have a heavy crease. Lord knows any time I submit one to SGC I get a 30 or worse.

Yeah, me too. I saw this SGC 70 on eBay tonight that left me shaking my head (I know, not pre-war, but still an ugly card for the grade).

Default Expectations

I expect a "3" to have rounded corners and/or a wrinkle or two... but not a big a$$ crease. Look at this PSA 3... I don't think I've seen a SGC 40 look that bad... so I want someone to show me...

For comparison, here is a PSA 2 (which was a crack out from an SGC 30/2). Worn corners, but crease free. 3's need sharper corners. They may have slight creases, but they should not go through the player (e.g., on edges or corners). That T206 with the strong crease through the middle is obviously a misgrade.

Here is my only 3 with a crease (lower left corner). I decided I liked the rest of the card enough that I could ignore it. It started life as a PSA-4.
