Thanks, Phil. Obviously, some pinhole damage but I'd never seen it either. You'd think the owner could have put the pinhole a little to the left or right? Oh, well... still happy to have it and glad it survived at all.

Default Some great pick-ups!

Here are some recent pick-ups. The T206 Fred Clarke Sweet Cap 150 and the 1907 Grignon Frank Chance PC are from the BST. The 1913 Pastime Novelty Co. Christy Mathewson PC was my end of a big trade. The Matty is easily by best PC!

That must have been one heck of a trade. That PC is one of my favourites!

Default Martin Dihigo just back from SGC

I was pretty excited to get this one back from SGC. I actually bought and posted the card last summer, and just now got around to having it graded. Graded better than I thought.

Best regards,

Joe

Default another T205...

with every new T205 I pick up, the more I fall in love with this set. It amazes me that this set seems to get so much less attention than T206s. While I understand the absence of action shots is a strike against it, everything else about it is amazing. The portraits are incredible, the facsimile autographs on the NL player cards, the full write-ups, the gold borders...these are like T206s on crack AND steroids!!! Anyway, back to enjoying the humble start of my T205 collection...

Beautiful card. Yep, lack of action shots and much smaller set. T206 and T205 - my 2 favorite pre-war sets (and I'm talking about the war to end all wars).

Thanks guys. I'm very happy with it. It is really clean and the focus is dead on. The first pre-war card I bought was this card, but in a PSA 8, back in 2000. I quickly realized that I would have a very small collection if I kept going after 8's. So I sold it and started going after mid-grade cards and I have no regrets. It's a thrill to find mid-grade cards with great eye appeal.

Great deals for sure.

I will add to the compliments on that '33 Gehrig - that's about as good as you could want for that card.

Default Gotta love a guy named "Peaches"...

This is card #12 on my long road to completing a T205 set in VGish condition...not sure if this qualifies as the black signature or the blue signature or maybe a little bit of both...

Default question

for those of you that collect T210, i want to know why..

since they are all minor leaguers, you cant be player collectors..is it for the thrill of the chase? have you completed sets of real Major leaguers already?
is it the belief that they are undervalued?

thanks for the response...

I don't collect this set, but I think it's because many people like how the set looks and that the cards are reasonably affordable. Also, there is an iconic card in the set, i.e., the T210 Shoeless Joe Jackson, which is arguably his most valuable card.

I think its one of cleanest looking sets out there, if I decide to move away from the T206s, it is high on my list of potential sets.

Don't forget the T210 Casey Stengel which is also a very popular (and expensive) card as well.

interesting opinion....i bet if they were color lithographs instead of black and white, their popularity would be off the charts...

since they are all minor leaguers, you cant be player collectors..is it for the thrill of the chase? have you completed sets of real Major leaguers already?
is it the belief that they are undervalued?

thanks for the response...
I collect -2's because they are all Virginia Based teams and the set has 15+ Hometown Richmond Colt Cards to collect. And its alot more challenging than my other collections by far.

Lots of minor league issues are highly collected. Obaks and Zeenuts come to mind. I collect T210's because they offer cards of teams that you can't find with any other set. If it weren't for the T210 set, the T206 Foley White card would be the only pre-war card made of a Houston Buffalo player. On top of that I think they're gorgeous cards.
