Default "....a few sets should be cataloged" Burdick- Hobbies, Jan. 1936

Burdick wrote 7 articles for Hobbies magazine. I will be sharing the first 6 he wrote and am still hunting for the 7th. After all of these are posted, I will make the first one larger and then they will be archived permanently on the board, as the Egan handbook has been. Enjoy....

Leon, these are great - thanks. I like Burdick's comment in the first article about why cigarette cards were banned - probably by the "Society for the Supression of something or Other", and then the comment that "the general opinion of cigarettes is much different today."

If marijuana ever gets legalized, I would love to get involved in a venture to create baseball cards for inclusion - color lithos, of course.

The coronation referred to on the last page is the same one we all know from "The King's Speech".

Default Hobbies Magazine- JR Burdick, Sept. 1937

Hobbies Magazine- JR Burdick, Sept. 1937

Burdick wrote 7 articles for Hobbies Magazine. The last one being in the June 1938 Hobbies Magazine, which I don't have. This Sept., 1937 Magazine article is the last one which I was able to acquire. This one discusses misprints, errors and omissions with cards!! Is there a hotter topic in pre-war card collecting than those pesky errors and back collecting?? Once this is posted we will lock the thread in a few days and put it in our Archive Center (icon on every page, far right as you look at your screen) so future collectors and Net54baseball members can read them. best regards
