Ditto. I find your last sentance interesting though. If there were a buyer for this dust how much do they require? Is 1 oz worht $100 and therefore 1/2 oz is only worth $50. Where is the supply/dmd inflection point. Can I sell 1/10th of an oz for $100 as easily as 1 oz?

Of course I could buy it, split it into two bags of sawdust and double my money...

Default sawdust joe jackson

I chose $0 but would have picked $.25 in honor of Leon's ubiquitous quarter but the choice was not available.
all the best,

For argument: 40 oz original bat, worth $50,000 - that's $1,250/ounce. Break-even for the seller at $100/'vile' is under 1/10 ounce.

The good news: highly unlikely it came from a Jackson bat, or even from a bat.

Wouldn't buy it for any price. By paying anything for this type of stuff only encourages more destruction of these allegedly historical relics.

IF somebody can PROVE to me that this is actually sawdust from Joe Jackson bat, I still would have no interest, only sadness that a Joe Jackson bat has been destroyed.

But, since I doubt that it ever was a Joe Jackson bat, I feel only sadness at what our "hobby" has become.

Is this stuff graded authentic, or did it get a number? The picture is too smalll to tell.

Not graded, just put in a capsule by Highland mint.

They currently make stuff like this
http://www.highlandmint.com/2005worl...photomint.aspx

Or more commonly medal type items with dirt inside.

http://www.highlandmint.com/national...tkeychain.aspx

The Game used bat ones looked like this
http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedi...used-119003378

And the sawdust was the leftovers from making the little slices of bat to frame with the photo. They had a COA with pictures on the back showing what they'd cut up.

These predate the "game used" cards, and probably inspired them.

And yeah, I think they should be beaten for cutting up that stuff.

If they would throw in a book of matches I would give them $.10. It would make a good fire starter!
