This was a pretty cool Mantle item and the only one made. It's a handmade display sign advertising Mickey Mantle's Holiday Inn in Joplin Missouri from back in the 1950s. I couldn't ever find any info on it but I believe it was a prototype because of the size, roughly 8" by 18".

Vintage, original, first generation 1956 period Gallo photo - Mick's favorite - with original Raymond Gallo Photographer stamp (no zip code). They don't get much better than this!!!

This 11X14 beauty hung in Mickey's office during the first few years of his Holiday Inn.

I've always loved that shot, and for the life of me, can't remember ever seeing anything even remotely resembling an original. Now, the eyes have it!

I was lucky to get the total package: Glove with original tag and string attached, copy of magazine ad and the plastic packaging.

And what a package it is - just beautiful!!! Congratulation on a terrific acquisition. I've always loved that ad. I wonder if there is a cardboard version of the ad?

Hey Craig/Graig... I completely agree with Graig/Craig. I too have never seen that image in a TYPE 1. Truly remarkable. Wish I had it. And as if that alone wasn't enough, your example is oversized and belonged to the Mick his own self! A Triple-Crown winning Mantle photo that would be a cornerstone in any Baseball Photography Collection.

Type I - 1952 Spring Training. To me Mickey's expression seems both majestic and pensive at the same time - perhaps conveying the conflicting sense of confidence and self-doubt that he still felt going into his sophomore year.
