Here's a childhood story about Lincoln pennies: when I was a kid in the early 1960's I looked through change on almost a daily basis; in those days you could still find key coins. Around 1961 I went trick or treating for UNICEF and when I got home I searched through my entire milk carton ( a bit of an ethical dilemma, I know. I was 9). To my amazement I found a 1931-S penny, one of the key dates in the series. It was the best coin I ever found in change in my life.
About two weeks later I lost it. I spent years looking through my house for it, and never found it. I never did figure out where it went. Maybe someone else picked it up and just spent it. ![]() Last edited by barrysloate; 10-12-2011 at 05:03 AM. |
