A picture from their website of who they are..............

I feel much better about them because I always try to live an experiment out of common run.....but, then again, don't we all..........

I haven't heard that slogan since the last time I bought genuine cubic zirconias from Taipei.

Looking at this price book from 1993 it looks like fake cards have been graded as long as originals:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Basebal...#ht_675wt_1185

I am not sure who graded the cards because there is no name on them but they are clearly fake cards.

It looks like ACA authenticates autographs too. Maybe there is hope for my 500 HR Club autographed baseball afterall.

Maybe Piedmont will start using ACA

Those look like Acu-Card holders, the name is on the back. I have a Delong graded by them. It is genuine. But it may be trimmed as it's the first card in the set and it's graded a 7. The cuts also look too clean and new. It was very inexpensive, maybe even less than a nice looking SGC A.

I can't see slabbing reprints even to use as props for a book cover. The potential bad PR is a killer.

They were pretty early in the grading business. If it's the company I'm thinking of they were local to Boston and even did grading at in-store events.

What were the companies started when the deal was out there to start a grading co licensed from someone? I think the patent holder on the slabs?
If I recall, it was something like 5 territories/licenses for 15000 each.

That Wagner looks incredibly fake.

I recently read a very similar pitch in the Nigerian email scam.

Default My head hurts!

Brouillard based his grade in part on research done by paper expert Walter Rantanen, who examined the card in 2003 at the request of Edwards and Cobb and concluded the paper stock was consistent "with being from 1910."

Brouillard also relied in part on printing expert Arnie Schwed, who also examined the card for Edwards and Cobb and said it was definitely not a counterfeit.

Steve Allen once coined a word he called "dumbth." All of these people possess mass quantities of dumbth.
