Gotta love Cory Snyder...His '85 Olympic card was one of my favorites growing up. It's virtually worthless, but I still love it for sentimental reasons..

Chao sure did "spice" up the board in the old days though.

To be completely honest, i just recently found Net54 and began lurking here, right around the same time that Peter became a member and started posting (i believe that was back sometime around the winter of 2007 or so) and he got me coming back to Net54 every few hours, just to see what he was gonna post next, lol.

Same here. I had a stack of them as a teenager. Thought he was gonna be better then McGwire LOL!!

Plus he played for the Waterbury Indians, whose Stadium I could actually see from my grandmothers house.

I "see" Jeff's initial, comically well-put point, but hype is and always has been part of the game, especially in all fields of collectibles. Just check out Barrett-Jackson's classic car auctions. Each of us just has to decide for ourselves just what is the sizzle and what is the steak in any given case, with no ill will intended towards Pete in this regard at all. Most of us here are pretty good at doing that. Plus we're big boys now, and we've had extensive discussions on eye appeal versus technical grade, and we pretty much agree on the importance of the former.

May those items that you pull the trigger on fill your heart with joy for years to come.
