There are several Detroit Wolverine players who would play ball in the 20th century including three of them with the Detroit Tigers. The NL, AL Detroiters would be Deacon McGuire, Frank Scheibeck, and Sam Thompson.
McGuire had stints with Detroit in 1885, 1888, 1902, 1903, & 1912! Scheibeck played one game for Detroit in 1888, three games in 1906 Thompson played for Detroit from 1885-1888, eight games in 1906 All three have OJs, but limited to no 20th century cards. Other notable Wolverines who would play 20th century ball for teams other than Detroit include Dan Brouthers (2 games in 1904 with NYG) and HOF manager Ned Hanlon who played with Detroit from 1881-1888 and would then manage from 1889-1907.
