Get a 8800F...
This one is highly recommended by a few board members, and I bought one, and it the scans are beautiful. If you do a search on scanner's, this subject has been covered in depth in the past. Good Luck ! (BTW - This scan has No editing/touch up whatsoever)

A second big thumbs up for the Canon Canoscan 8800f..have used it for over a year and just yesterday I bought a new computer with Microsoft 7 and it is compatible.

Alot of people like the Epson's.....I have one, and you can see numerous threads about them across the street.
