I don't know if I can answer any of your questions, but quality players "jumped" from their NL and AL teams because they were promised much more money. RHP Claude Hendrix was a marquis type player when he joined the Chicago Feds in 1914. He had 6 seasons with 20 or more wins, and 29 with the Feds in 1914. If his career had lasted a few more years he might have made it to the HOF. On 5/15/15 he no-hit the Pittsburgh Rebels while on the Chicago Feds. |
