I'm holding out for some dried up ball spit. I'm gonna clone myself a Ty Cobb in the basement to help me out with the yard work. Temperment might be an issue, but should be a good time and hustle will not be an issue.

Alomar would have helped you with that Bob. But he wasted all his on the umpire.

I'm going to wait until someone mixes together saw dust from the bats of Ruth, Cobb, Wagner, Mathewson and Johnson. Someone could mix it all together with a little bit of glue/resin and create the ultimate game used collectible.

This is a great post. What a fine example of how far things are going down the game-used bat road.
Have you guys seen this one? I didn't believe it until I saw the listing on ebay. Apparently you can wear the game-used bat/material on your wrist...What will they come up with next??? ![]() ![]() |

Ooooh! They come with a collectible Relic Wear Ted Williams card. I must have one of these bracelets...I wasn't exactly sure before, but the card(probably, featuring a piece of Ted's Undies) pretty much sealed the deal. Oh, and did I mention that the card is 1 of 250....Let's not forget the download code good for ANY audible.com book. What a deal!!!!
Honestly, I get the sawdust as it's the scraps from the game used items, basically creating the poor-mans game used material. I still hate the idea of carving up history, but I hate the thought of even one bit of those item winding up in the trash even more...But seriously, they've gone way too far with this bracelet crap. Why not use the sawdust in the bracelets? At least then we won't have to see those ugly plastic dust coins.. |

I hear that they are going to cut up the saw that cut up the bats, and distribute the tiny plastic and metal pieces of the saw in packs of shiny cards.

They should do the same thing with one of Hacksaw Jim Duggan's 2X4s.

Mr. McGuire: I want to say one word to you. Just one word.
Benjamin: Yes, sir. Mr. McGuire: Are you listening? Benjamin: Yes, I am. Mr. McGuire: Sawdust. Benjamin: Just how do you mean that, sir? |
