Default Sloppy/Negligent grading

Note that the Rice this seller has up for auction has full borders, and that PSA's serial number is just three digits away from the Roush, indicating that these were graded at the same time:

Unfriggingbelievable that this card would be given an MC grade. Now I've seen it all!

Obviously a mistake by the grading co.

Another set that has always been a bit of a pet-peeve when it comes to how they are graded is the E285 Rittenhouse set. These cards were made with extra extensions on the top and bottom borders but I don't know how many I have seen that have been graded numerically with these extensions either completely or partially trimmed off.

The Simmons below is an example of a trimmed card, while the George Davis is as issued...

I'm not bashing either company as I have seen the trimmed ones in both SGC & PSA holders.

It's easy to grade cards if you don't know what you're looking at . . .

Unbelievable. The whole point of a PSA submission is that PSA is supposed to be an expert at authenticating and grading cards, as they say on their web site:

"PSA provides expert analysis and protection for your collectibles. Using state-of-the-art, proprietary methods, the hobby's most astute and knowledgeable grading experts render carefully considered, unbiased third-party opinions of grade. When you see a card/ticket in a holder displaying the PSA logo, you can be confident that the card/ticket has been properly authenticated and graded by the experts at Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA)."

"When you buy a PSA-graded collectible or submit an item to PSA for grading, you get the most accurately graded collectible in the hobby. You'll never have to rely on subjective opinions or the word of a seller."

So what happened to PSA's "astute and knowledgeable" graders? Did they forget to use their "state-of-the-art, proprietary methods" to grade the cards in question? Everyone's entitled to a mistake, but when you make enough of them on one order and they are egregious enough, perhaps the "experts at Professional Sports Authenticator" need to reconsider drinking tequila shots with lunch.

The seller stated that the cards were hand cut prior to issue. Is this accurate?

As far as PSA's "expertise", they have been consistently over grading my submissions lately. (New staff?) I just feel like it's cheapening their service.

FYI, my bids on some of these cards have been cancelled by the seller for the reason "Request from PSA due to grading concerns." Weird thing is the auctions are still continuing, and you can still place new bids.
