Christy Mathewson, by Ronald Mayer
(game by game account) The Old Ball Game, by Frank Deford (McGraw and Mathewson) The Player, by Philip Seib (good read but too many distractions) The Celebrant, by Eric Greenberg (though Fiction, you should include this in your list - a must read!) |

I've only read 'The Old Ballgame', which is noted above. While I can't say how it compares to any other book on Matty, I can vouch for it as being a solid read on its own.
Regards, Richard. |

Hi Scott,
I read this one and thought it was good: Matty, an American Hero, by Ray Robinson. From 1993. |

I will check it out! BTW, I just bought a copy of The Celebrant, by Eric Wolfe Greenberg, from board member Scooter. Thanks Lou! Last edited by Scott Garner; 11-13-2010 at 06:30 AM. |
