Perhaps it's just the angle of the photo?

The rain gutter shown at the top of the column in your postcard also shows up in Dan's linked photo. It's at the same location and doesn't show up on any other columns. The roof line down the left field line is set back too far to show up in your postcard.

I'm still getting a chuckle from Dan's photo from the outfield bleachers view. If you zoom in on the writing along the 3rd base line seats it's says "No betting allowed in this park". Kinda funny considering what happened 9 years later.
