i think 20 million is a little more excessive....

Some inexperienced collectors would pay a little extra for a t206 in that nice of shape....

Default Bender 7

Larry,

Did you notice that the BCCG 7 is defined as "Very Good or Better" on the label? I don't get what BCCG means by that grading system! What's a 10, EX+??

They grade crap a 6 and 7 to make you feel better about your cards!

Ron,

There have been several threads on BCCG here. Check the "Search" function.

Suffice it to say, it's not the same scale you are used to. Although Beckett's web site says they use a simplified 10 point scale, that's not true. (Not that I'm calling them a liar. They're just NOT telling the truth.) The BCCG scale is from 5 to 10.

I don't have it in front of me, but it's something like this:

5 - Poor or better
6 - Good or better
7 - Very Good or better
8 - Excellent or better
9 - Near Mint or better
10-Mint or Better

In theory, the word description matches up with what we're used to. The numbers don't.

They (Beckett) claim it is designed for the mass merchandisers (HSN), but it serves no useful purpose but to deceive the unsuspecting.

Top it off with Beckett handling both grading and auctioning of graded cards, and they go on my "Don't Trust" list. (Admittedly, that list seems to get a little longer every day.) They're certainly not at the top of the list, but they're on it.

Default Higbee's

Higbee's has been around for a long time. They should know better. Their credibility just went out the window.

That's a perfect example of using a BCCG grade to mislead a novice collector.I guess his "moral compass" is broken...........

Does BCCG grade reprint cards? I know a couple of services do but they usually list a card as a reprint on their slab tag.
What's odd is that sometimes you will find BCCG 8s, 9s and 10s which are steals because they are in nice shape and everyone is scared of the grading service. Sometimes....
