Just a few odds and ends I have around the house
These are 5 full sheets of Cubs stationary. They all have interesting notations on them regarding traveling expenses from the Cubs traveling secretary, Bob Lewis. ![]() ![]() This is a 8 X 10 original photo of Wrigley Field circa 1930's (before the bleachers were built. Note the pitcher and batter on top of the scoreboard. The scan would not allow me to get the whole photo but its easy to imagine the filled stands with kids in the trees watching the Babe raise his fingers in the 1932 world series. By the way...he didnt call his shot...I talked to a number of old timers that were there and they all say the same thing!!

Lou,
I remember Bob Prince waving the "all powerful" Green Weenie from the KDKA radio booth, trying to get a rally going. Great memories! Thanks, John |

Here are some items from Bill "Moose" Skowron's days playing ball in Austin, Minnesota for the Austin Packers of the Southern Minny League. The first item is a sketch book put out by the team for the 1950 season with photos of each player on the team. The next item is a scorecard from the 1st game that Moose ever played in the Southern Minny League. The last is a set of photos put out by the team and each one has been signed by the player including Moose.

Usually I don't suffer from envy when someone posts a great card or memorabilia item, but that Bill Skowron sketch makes me crazy jealous. Moose was my baseball hero back in those wonderful boyhood days in the ancient fifties. I picked up this motheaten cap from one of the auctions a few years ago, ostensibly game worn in 1957 by him, possibly seen upon his head by Mini-Me as he manned first base. Who knows? This photograph of Moose as a Purdue fullback and stamped Nov 3, 1949 was acquired from the latest Henry Yee eBay sale and was delivered about 10 minutes ago.

Hi David, I am glad you like the Moose Skowron sketch. I am from Austin so I have always been interested in memorabilia from the 1950 Austin Packers team with Moose on it. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot of stuff around from this team. I do have almost all of the scorecards from the 1950 season. Take care. Dan |
