We lived just outside of Columbus from 1995 to 2005. So I have Ohio "connections". If I have to be a "fan" of the Indians or the Reds, I'm out. Not big on most Ohio teams. (Except that I'd like to see the Buckeyes recruit some team speed and be able to play with the SEC someday.) Last edited by Jim VB; 10-20-2009 at 11:38 AM. |

I live in southern Michigan and worked in Ohio at two different places. Was just having a little fun. All of the Big Ten needs to recruit speed so we can get some respect in the polls. Was stationed at Ft. Bliss in the service also. D.

Ohio State and Nebraska have played twice in football:
1955: OSU 28, Nebraska 20 1956: OSU 34, Nebraska 7 I'm proud to say I did not know this but had to look it up in our database. Ohio State football fans might find it interesting: http://www.buckeyextra.com/live/cont...SUresults.html |

Reference sites seems to disagree. http://collegefootball.about.com/gi/...rehouse.com%2F Buckeyes 2-0 against Nebraska! (Ohio State may finish this year at 7-5. Perhaps they'll meet Nebraska in the Liberty Bowl or the Weed-eater Bowl.) |

Cool piece, Andy. Though I've seen the pinback, can't say that I've ever come across one of those player charms.

Thanks Rob,
For years I didn't know much about these. I did know they had to have been issued for a short time in 1949 because of the others that I have, two of the players overlapped on their respective teams for only about six weeks that summer. Dr. M's guide shows a few that he correctly dates 1949 as well. I've got a handful of Cubs, White Sox and this one Indian. I've also seen a Yankee although it's been a long time. -a |

You know that the Nebraska players designed the original uniforms themselves, don't you? Do you know what the "N" on the helmets stands for?
