The photo is from circa 1940s, obviously reusing an old photo. It's a standard snapshot style from the period. There were professional photographers like Jim Rowe and George Brace who sold commercially snapshot sized photos of old time players, and they often used later generation images like this. I don't know that that's the case with this photo, but it's conceivable. |
