evers was IMO, out of the trio the only real hall of famer, after being dumped by the cubs in 1914,he teamed with a young shortstop rabbit maranville and led a inspired boston braves to a pennant over mcgraws favored giants. then beating macks famed al champs in 4 straight.most likely the greatest underdogs to ever win a world championship in the history of major league ball. evers was the nl mvp that year. |
