Look I know changing someone's mind that is trying to pry someone's hard earned money selling a photo he has been repeatedly told for at least 12 years is NOT WHAT HE SAYS IT IS, Seems like a waste of time. But hear me out. Every time someone stands up and pushes back on this type of nonsense it creates a digital trail. A trail that hopefully will show up and open the eyes, and close the wallet of someone thinking this might be real.
I saw that parts of this 1879 Dabuque team premium were shown 12 years ago look at it for yourselves. The 1879 Dabuque team certainly looks the part of a Small city's semi pro ball club. The 1881 photo is not remotely similar. And is almost certainly not a Traveling semi pro ball club representing a city the size of Dabuque. |

You finally got something right, my photo is 1881 NOT 1879, Radbourne and Gleason were gone, Comiskey was trying to organize a new baseball team in 81, thanks for clearing this up, I've been trying to explain this to the forum, my photo is dated 1881-Thank you. Comiskey, Quinn, Tom Loftus, and Ted Sullivan were still in Dubuque playing baseball. Thanks again!

For the baseball historians --this is the 1881 roster for the Rabbits Ted Sullivan took to play the St Louis Browns. FACT, it was said the Rabbits uniforms resembled pajamas. Last edited by Directly; 05-26-2025 at 07:21 AM. |

Posting pictures of some random young man and Labling it Charles Comiskey. Is not cool. Please stop.
You could spend the money and have a reputable company compare the ears and tell you definitely it is not Charles Comiskey. Or you could simply compare the players in the 1879 photo of the Dabuque team to the players you identify as these same players 2 years later. It's just not them. You say it is a $50k photo so why wouldn't it be worth a couple hundred bucks to verify? |

Make this easier. I already posted a photo of Comiskey from 1879 2 years before. Here is a picture of him from 1883. Ears don't match height don't match on and on. It just isn't him. Born in 1859 Commy was 20 in the 1879 picture and 24 in the 1883 picture. Plenty of other pictures of the St.Louis Browns from 1882 83 84 etc. It might have been harder to find these 12 years ago. But now just to easy to show you are wrong.
