Thanks for reviving the thread Marty. Your Billy Johnson jersey is a real beauty. I've always been partial to third basemen, who I believe are the most underappreciated players in the game. There are half as many third sackers in the Hall of Fame compared to any other position.

Here's a few more flannels from my collection, including a 1963 Cardinals jersey, a c. 1970 Reds jersey, and a super-cool 1960s Anderson College (Indiana) Ravens jersey. Former Dodgers ace Carl Erskine, who grew up in Anderson, was their coach, and the team was known at the time for their excellent pitching staffs.

Well, they aren’t exactly flannel jerseys, but here are some of the great “Golden Age” Jackets worn by Major Leaguers over their Flannels. Some incredible styles and classic team logos. The pride of workmanship is just off the charts.

I personally think Vintage MLB Jackets are highly underrated, especially if you compare their prices to the Jerseys. Anyway, here’s the video we just released. Hope you all enjoy…

Great jackets Mark! I think that Cleveland Indian jacket is valued low, it’s amazing!

Thank you, Rob and Clint....

Yeah, I purposely went pretty low on the estimates. But with regard to that Indians example, I kind of blew it. When they go to auction, there's no telling what they'll sell for. It largely depends upon whether the right people see them, and the number of eyeballs that view them.

Plus, there are just so few exemplars. It's the antithesis of Baseball Cards, in that direct comps are almost non-existent.

Thanks for watching!

Really enjoyed that episode Mark. Here's a 1939-40 Reds jacket.

Thanks Marty! It's the first of a 2-pert episode. Part 2 should hit the "airwaves" in a couple weeks. Really appreciate you watching!

And Chris.... Incredibly gorgeous Jacket! Probably the best style the Reds ever had, and maybe the coolest* style of ANY team. Never been able to nail down one of that style, but have seen 3-4 at auction over the years, So glad that you have one, and is it ever a beauty!

Default PCL Jackets

As I mentioned last meet-up Mark, I also really enjoyed your Part 1 jacket TSOG.

I echo Mark's sentiments on the 39-40 Reds jacket. Wow! A beaut.

Adding a few PCL jackets to the festivities, with the 1949 Seals Tour of Japan jacket being one of my favorites of all time.
  • 1949 SF Seals Japan Tour (suede with leather letters and Seals graphic)
  • 1955 Hollywood Stars
  • 1961 Hawaii Islanders

Since we've added jackets to the thread, here's one that came from the Mike Garcia collection.

Insanely beautiful Jackets, Dave and Chris....

Vintage Jackets are perhaps the most underrated segment of the Game-used universe. And that incredible Seals example.... jaw-dropper!

+1. Here I am trying on Walter Johnson's jacket as manager of the Nationals in 1931, for sale for $20,000 in 1991.

Although these aren’t baseball related, I thought I would share my Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes sideline capes from the 1960’s
