Flannels are about as cool as it gets in the hobby. I hope this thread keeps on rolling.
Even my wife and friends think this story is cool and they don't collect. I was at dealer Dave Bushing's house about 25 years ago to pick up a jersey from him and he let me check out this amazing piece of history. It was a 1947 Jackie Robinson jersey that he was selling to a client for 25K. It's not too often you get to hold a major piece of history. I'm guessing it's worth a few million these days. |

Mark, I'm always humbled by your astonishing collection. Here's a few of my favorite flannels from the boondocks of baseball. I can't resist a great looking old jersey, regardless how obscure the team was that wore it. I can't tell you much about any of these teams, but if you have any information to share, I'd love to hear it.
|
Chris - those are awesome!
|
Those are BEAUTIFUL, Chris!
Such stylish examples from Baseball's Golden Age. Especially love the INCAS Jersey. Great stuff! |

Thanks Hank! That’s amazing info. I will need to re-watch Damn Yankees! in its entirety soon. Such a great take on “Faust” and one of my Dad’s very favorites. He grew up in DC and hated the Yankees with a passion. He was also an accomplished musician, so the film really resonated with him.
Can’t wait to see the real-life Sievers Homer. Ya gotta have heart! |
