FS: Type 1 photo of Clark Griffith (HOF), Wash. Senators manager
Clark Griffith (HOF), Washington Senators manager, original Type 1 photo, size 6.5" x 8.5". This undated photo shows Griffith packing his uniform for spring training, which indicates that it was taken between 1912 and 1920, when Griffith was the field manager of the Senators. The photo has a few very minor flaws, but the image of Griffith is strong. $40 delivered.
Note: This Type 1 photo was part of Lot #59127 in Heritage Auction's October 26, 1924, Sports Showcase Auction. This auction lot consisted of 12 Type 1 photos of Washington Senators players. I won this lot to obtain the 2 Sam Rice photos that were in it, as I'm an avid Sam Rice collector. This photo has a small, round sticker (1" in diameter) on the back which reads "Christies" and "1996 Baseball Magazine Original."
