Never saw a movie of his that I did not like.

Not the most mentioned, but every time I hear his name my first thought is usually Bat21.

I thought he was great in The Unforgiven - Been awhile since I’ve seen it but I remember him playing an Ill-equipped sheriff that made some bad decisions desperately trying to keep the peace .. Of course the film is about as far from peaceful as you can get

I will never forget seeing "The Poseidon Adventure" for the first time. I was amazed! Kind of like watching "Top Gun" on the big screen when it first came out - breathtaking!

RIP.

I remember as a kid this movie and when he died in it, it was tough as a little kid you watched a movie like this so intently, wanted him to make it out.

No one has mentioned The Firm yet - he's very good in that movie too.

Although The French Connection is one of the greatest movies ever

His first card I believe, and an early photo from 1964.

I’m not super into westerns and Unforgiven is still one of my favorite movies. Hackman was so good. Agree with everyone that Hoosiers is top notch. Hackman didn’t think so at the time apparently.

Agree with the sentiment here.

Hackman was fantastic and I think about Hoosiers a lot. Especially in coaching.

I hope to coach like coach Dale!
