Goodness. It literally says "JALFCO Reprint 1988" on the back.

Has anyone told Rick?

It looks like it, since he already changed the listing title.

I wonder what will happen at the authentication stage if this ends up being sold.

There will be no authentication. That's only after the $250 threshold.

14 bids and 20 watchers...if enough of them think it's real it could reach that threshold. (Certainly at least some of them are missing the fact that it's a reprint, right?)

Since this thread was started a few hours ago, over 500 people have viewed the listing on ebay.

It's an interesting question. My understanding is that ebay authentication does 2 things with graded cards. They authenticate the slab itself to verify it wasn't tampered with, and they verify the item matches the description. But they don't re-authenticate the card within the slab at all (like they would for a raw card). So my guess is that since the description is accurate and the slab has not been tampered with, it would pass. But it's a weird situation where the description is different from what's on the slab, but references that the label is an error.

Right, I missed that initially. (As did 3 bidders and 12 watchers, apparently...)

Or they're buying it for the novelty? Crazy.

It did get an extra half point for appearance--can't argue with that. 🤮

I can guarantee the guy with the highest bid now wants it as a novelty.

I suppose if PSA took the time to do everything right, your common submission would take 6 months instead of 3. God knows they won't hire more people to reduce the burden and improve service -- that isn't the Modern American Way.

It’s a good thing they’ve tightened their grading standards.

Yeah, but to be fair to the grader of this card, you have to read a lot of other text on the back before you get to the reprint notice.
